We are thrilled to announce that Nancy Havill, MS, CIC, has joined XCMR as the Senior Director of Infection Prevention. With over 20 years of experience in epidemiology and infection control, Nancy is a highly accomplished infection preventionist, researcher, and author. Her expertise in reducing healthcare-associated pathogens will be instrumental in product development, evaluation, and implementation processes. This is a significant addition to the XCMR team, and we are excited about the innovative solutions she will lead.
Nancy’s diverse background spans various infection prevention strategies, including fumigation methodologies, novel disinfectants, UV-C technologies, and strategies for monitoring cleaning and disinfection practices. She has conducted numerous studies on no-touch room disinfection, including vaporized hydrogen peroxide and UV-C. Her work during the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the FDA issuing an Emergency Use Authorization for a vaporized hydrogen peroxide protocol, highlights her ability to innovate and respond to critical healthcare challenges.
Nancy’s extensive background includes applying UV-C methodologies to reduce healthcare-associated pathogens. Her knowledge in this area will be crucial for designing, testing, and validating XCMR’s innovative product line. This expertise will help XCMR develop innovative solutions to prevent hospital-acquired infections and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in healthcare environments and beyond.
Nancy holds a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from the University of Bridgeport and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration and Management from Salve Regina University. She is an active member of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) and is board certified in Infection Control (CIC). She is a member and past Program Director of APIC’s New England Chapter. Nancy has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and currently serves on the Editorial Board for the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC). Her impressive career path includes notable positions at Yale New Haven Health System, where she oversees several hundred ambulatory services.
