XCMR is pleased to announce the engagement of Thomas McCreery as XCMR Innovation Fellow. Mr. McCreery is the vice-president of innovation and chief operating officer for Zeteo Tech Inc., and brings a wealth of experience in technology development, program management, and strategic leadership.
Mr. McCreery’s career is consistently punctuated by a commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation. His experience leading technology programs at Raytheon Missile Systems, ranging from novel structural materials to directed energy applications, demonstrates his ability to drive impactful advancements in complex fields. While his military service as an M1 Abrams tank crewman underscores his dedication to serving his country and tackling challenging problems head-on.
Mr. McCreery’s tenure at DARPA showcases his talent for fostering groundbreaking research. As a program manager, he created and managed programs in critical areas such as radiation decontamination and detection, biological sensors, battlefield medicine, and advanced warheads. His achievements earned him the prestigious DARPA program award and the Office of Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service.
Prior to DARPA Mr. McCreery was the lead biologist for ImaRx Pharmaceutical Corp in Tucson Arizona where he was involved in pharmaceutical development from benchtop formulation to human trials. At XCMR, Mr. McCreery will leverage his expertise to identify and nurture high-impact projects that align with the company’s strategic vision.
Mr. McCreery’s experience spans both the defense and pharmaceutical industries, reflecting his versatility and ability to adapt to diverse challenges. His involvement in pharmaceutical development, from benchtop formulation to human trials, underscores his understanding of the complexities involved in bringing innovative solutions to market. At XCMR, Mr. McCreery will champion a culture of innovation, ensuring that promising ideas are translated into impactful technologies.

Mr. McCreery holds a BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona, an MS in Biology from the University of North Dakota, and an MBA from the Eller School at the University of Arizona. He is an author of over 30 publications and an inventor on 12 issued US Patents. His diverse background, combined with his proven leadership and commitment to innovation, will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to XCMR’s success.
