XCMR is pleased to announce the engagement of Joe F. Edwards as Executive Advisor, Strategy. Mr. Edwards is the founder and CEO of Polaris Technology Solutions, a company specializing in program management and engineering services for the Federal Government. He brings a wealth of experience in leadership, technology development, and government contracting to XCMR.
Mr. Edwards’ background is as impressive as it is diverse. A former fighter pilot and test pilot, he flew combat missions during the Cold War and Operation Desert Storm, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross for his bravery and skill. He later transitioned to the space program, serving as an astronaut in NASA’s Space Shuttle-Mir Space Station program. During his time at NASA, he set world records for piloting the largest mass and the most humans in Earth orbit simultaneously. His unique experiences in high-pressure environments and his understanding of complex technological systems will provide invaluable insights to XCMR.
Mr. Edwards is a seasoned entrepreneur with a proven track record of success. He has held positions as CEO and chairman of the board, as well as general managerial roles in Fortune 10 companies. His leadership at Polaris Technology Solutions has resulted in over $6 billion in sales to federal, state, and local clients, including prominent organizations such as DARPA, the FAA, the U.S. Air Force, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his work at Polaris, Mr. Edwards is actively involved in developing advanced technologies for hypersonic vehicles, optionally manned aircraft, and nuclear rocket engine-powered spacecraft. His forward-thinking approach and strategic vision will be instrumental in guiding XCMR’s growth and expansion into new frontiers.
“Joe’s exceptional leadership experience, coupled with his deep understanding of both technology and government sectors, makes him an invaluable addition to our team,” said Richard Rasansky, CEO of XCMR. “We are confident that his strategic insights will be instrumental in guiding XCMR’s future growth and success.”
He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, the US Naval Test Pilot School and the Navy Fighter Weapons School (Topgun). Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, and Master’s degrees in Flight Control Systems Engineering, Engineering Flight Test and Industrial Management. Over the course of his numerous missions, Joe flew several hundred hours in space, logged 650 aircraft-carrier-arrested landings, and flew over 8,000 hours in 95 different aircraft.
