XCMR is pleased to announce the engagement of Dr. Wayne Bryden as Research Fellow. Dr. Bryden is the president and chief operating officer of Zeteo Tech Inc., and brings a wealth of experience in materials science, biodefense research, and technology commercialization.

From the lab to the battlefield

Dr. Bryden’s career showcases his dedication to protecting national security and pushing scientific boundaries. His 25 years at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU-APL) were marked by significant contributions to materials science and biodefense research, earning him the prestigious JHU-APL Inventor of the Year award twice. His profound understanding of biodefense challenges and opportunities will be instrumental in shaping XCMR’s research strategy.

A catalyst for innovation

Dr. Bryden’s leadership extends beyond the laboratory. As a Program Manager in the Special Projects/Strategic Technology Office of DARPA, he spearheaded ambitious research projects to detect and counter chemical, biological, and explosive weapons, earning him the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Zeteo Tech, where he continues to push the boundaries of sensor miniaturization, mass spectrometry, and systems biology. At XCMR, Dr. Bryden will inspire a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, driving the development of transformative technologies.

Dr. Bryden holds a MS and PhD in physical chemistry from The Johns Hopkins University. He is an author of over 80 publications and holds 7 US Patents. His extensive experience in both academia and industry, combined with his passion for innovation, will undoubtedly boost XCMR’s technical capabilities.
