Hon. Andy Weber brings 30 years of experience in countering nuclear, chemical, and biological threats to XCMR’s mission.

His global efforts in eliminating chemical weapons, securing nuclear materials, and reducing biological threats highlight his expertise in crisis management and team leadership.

Weber’s advisory roles with DARPA, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and Ginkgo BioWorks enhance XCMR’s innovative research capabilities.

A seasoned leader in countering global threats

Hon. Andy Weber has spent three decades working on the front lines of global security, often in challenging environments across the Middle East, former Soviet Union, Africa, and Asia. His career has been dedicated to countering the dangers posed by nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, including his leadership in securing weapons-grade uranium from Kazakhstan and Georgia and eliminating chemical weapons in Libya and Syria.

Expanding biosecurity and responding to health crises

In his role as Assistant Secretary of Defense under President Obama, Weber oversaw the global expansion of the Nunn-Lugar nonproliferation and biosecurity programs. He also coordinated U.S. and international efforts to combat the Ebola crisis in West Africa, further demonstrating his expertise in global health security.
