Hon. Andy Weber has spent three decades working on the front lines of global security, often in challenging environments across the Middle East, former Soviet Union, Africa, and Asia. His career has been dedicated to countering the dangers posed by nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, including his leadership in securing weapons-grade uranium from Kazakhstan and Georgia and eliminating chemical weapons in Libya and Syria.
In his role as Assistant Secretary of Defense under President Obama, Weber oversaw the global expansion of the Nunn-Lugar nonproliferation and biosecurity programs. He also coordinated U.S. and international efforts to combat the Ebola crisis in West Africa, further demonstrating his expertise in global health security.
“We were seeking a leader who could help us navigate complex global health and security risks. Andy Weber’s vast experience in reducing WMD threats and managing crisis situations makes him the perfect match for our mission,” said Richard Rasansky, CEO of XCMR.
