XCMR is excited to announce the appointment of Eric Snelgrove as vice-president of policy and government affairs. Snelgrove’s distinguished career includes serving as a Professional Staff Member with the U.S. House of Representatives Armed Services Committee, where he was the Minority Staff Lead for the Intelligence, Emerging Threats, and Capabilities Subcommittee. In this role, he conducted oversight of a $40 billion defense portfolio, managing defense programs in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, biotechnology, counterterrorism, and cyberspace activities.
He also led the Bipartisan Future of Defense Task Force in 2020, assessing the U.S. national security innovation base to ensure strategic overmatch against global competitors. His work resulted in critical recommendations to Congress on advancing emerging technologies, such as hypersonics, directed energy, and 5G.
Mr. Snelgrove’s background extends beyond policy oversight to hands-on leadership in the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). As a deputy program director at USSOCOM, Snelgrove managed a global special operations unit, overseeing 130 personnel and optimizing a $5.4 million budget to ensure operational efficiency. Earlier in his career, he served as director of operations for a 365-day intelligence center, where he coordinated activities across regional stakeholders and intelligence community organizations. His leadership resulted in a 390% increase in operational activity during this time.
Mr. Snelgrove’s tenure in the U.S. House Armed Services Committee also included shaping legislation to advance defense science and technology priorities. He was responsible for driving collaboration between industry, academia, and federal experts to forecast emerging capability requirements, including autonomous systems, drones, counter-UAS, and defense fundamental research. His oversight of DARPA programs further highlights his commitment to ensuring the U.S. remains at the forefront of innovation in defense technologies.
“We are honored to have Eric Snelgrove join XCMR,” said Richard Rasansky, CEO of XCMR. “Eric’s unparalleled expertise in defense policy and oversight of groundbreaking technologies makes him a vital addition to our team. His leadership in managing some of the nation’s most critical security programs, combined with his ability to drive innovation, will be instrumental as we advance our mission of developing cutting-edge solutions to enhance the capabilities of our nation’s armed forces.”
