Dr. Wayne Bryden

Research Fellow

Wayne Bryden Ph.D., Research Fellow at XCMR and President and Chief Operating Officer of Zeteo Tech, Inc., spent 25 years at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU-APL) where he conducted basic and applied materials and biodefense research as a Principal Professional Staff Scientist and Program Manager and twice received JHU-APL Inventor of the Year.

As a Program Manager in the Special Projects/Strategic Technology Office of DARPA, he was responsible for strategic planning, development, technical and operational management, financial affairs, and leadership of ambitious research projects to detect and counter chemical, biological and explosive weapons and was awarded the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service by DARPA.

Upon returning to JHU-APL, he was responsible for Program Development in Biological Sciences and Engineering. In 2007 he joined ICx Technologies advancing to Chief Science Officer in 2009 and became Chief Science Officer of the Detection Division of FLIR Systems after their acquisition of ICx.

He cofounded Zeteo Tech LLC. now Zeteo Tech, Inc., where he focuses on sensor miniaturization, mass spectrometry, systems biology, standoff chemical and biological detection, and materials science.

He has authored over 80 publications and 7 US Patents and is a member of the American Chemical Society, Materials Research Society, Sigma Pi Sigma, and Sigma Xi. He obtained MS and PhD degrees in Physical Chemistry from The Johns Hopkins University in 1982 and 1983, respectively.
