XCMR Welcomes Eric Prast as VP of Product Engineering

Eric Prast joins XCMR as VP of Product Engineering, bringing over a decade of experience in product development.

His expertise spans biomedical, analytical instruments, and industrial equipment manufacturing, with a focus on electrical engineering and hardware development.

Mr. Prast’s track record of innovation and collaboration with diverse organizations optimally positions him to lead XCMR’s product engineering efforts.

XCMR is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Prast as our new vice-president of product engineering. Mr. Prast brings over ten years of product development experience across various sectors, including biomedical, analytical instruments, and global industrial equipment manufacturing. His strong background in electrical engineering and hardware development will be instrumental in driving XCMR’s product innovation and growth.

A proven leader in product development

Prior to joining XCMR, Mr. Prast served as the chief technology officer for EMP Design, where he spearheaded product development initiatives in partnership with esteemed organizations such as the U.S. Department of Defense, Veterans Health Administration, and several universities. His work at EMP Design focused on creating innovative biomedical and wearable technologies, showcasing his ability to bridge the gap between research and real-world applications.

Bridging the gap between research and real-world applications

Mr. Prasts accomplishments as a principal electrical engineer include leading the development of groundbreaking medical devices for rapid and non-invasive skin cancer detection, culminating in FDA clinical approval in 2019. His hands-on experience in hardware development, testing, and validation will be invaluable in ensuring the quality and efficacy of XCMR’s products.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Prast directed the hardware development team for biomedical products at ALPS, where he gained extensive experience in the prosthetics and robotics field. His notable achievements include inventing a wearable technology for amputees and contributing to the development of a prosthetic neural interface.

Mr. Prast holds a BA in electrical engineering from Florida State University and is the inventor/co-contributor on seven patents. His combination of technical expertise, innovative spirit, and collaborative mindset makes him an ideal fit for XCMR’s dynamic and forward-thinking environment.
